What is Chelation Value?

What is a chelating agent?

A chelating agent is a chemical compound that reacts with metal ions to form stable, water- soluble metal complexes. The chelating agent forms a bond with the metal ions thus removing the impurities in a substance. Chelating agents are also known as sequestering agents.
Chelating agents are used in dyes industry, textiles, water treatment plants, boilers, optical brighteners, detergents, soaps etc.
Chelating agents are available in various chelation values.

What is chelation value?

The chelating value indicates the amount of metal ions chelated by 1g of chelating agent. A higher chelation value denotes the ability of the chelating agent to absorb                                                                                                                     more metal ions with less quantity of chelating agent used.

A chelating agent is available in various chelation values ranging from 100 to 615 depending on the use in which industry. A higher chelation value although pricier often saves cost as only half the quantity is required to be used because of its strength to remove the impurities.
Sampan Enterprises are manufactures of chelating agent – Metachelate. It is an exact substitute of Di Sodium EDTA and is 2 times cheaper than Di Sodium EDTA.

We manufacture Metachelate in various chelating values depending on the use by our customers. Metachelate is available in the following chelation values at Sampan Enterprises:

Metachelate 100
Metachelate 270
Metachelate 300
Metachelate 480
Metachelate 600
